About the Boler Mountain Awards and Recognition Program

The Boler Mountain Awards and Recognition Program shines a light on the people and partners who make our dynamic destination such a welcoming and inclusive community. With refreshed award categories, open nominations, and clear criteria, it celebrates meaningful contributions from staff, volunteers, voting members, young leaders, and community partners. Aligned with best practices in the snow sport not-for-profit sector, the program highlights impact, diversity, and long-term dedication, helping Boler Mountain continue to be a vibrant community hub.

Award Categories

Our Recognition Program consists of five available awards designed to recognize ongoing contributions to the organization. These five awards were developed to provide various levels of recognition based on contributions to Boler Mountain and are listed below.

Awards Accordion

Objective: To celebrate individuals (under 25) who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a positive influence within the Boler Mountain community.

Eligibility: Boler Mountain staff (full-time and seasonal/part-time), Boler Mountain volunteers*, and voting members under 25 years of age.

Type of Award: Recipients will receive a distinctive customized award statuette.

Objective: To recognize a person with a long-standing record of dedication, leadership, and service to Boler Mountain over many years.

Eligibility: Boler Mountain volunteers* and voting members.

Type of Award: Recipients will receive a distinctive glass teardrop customized award.

Objective: To formally acknowledge Boler Mountain staff, voting members, or volunteers* who have passed in the recent fiscal year and made significant contributions to Boler Mountain.

Type of Recognition: Recipients’ names will be acknowledged during the annual general meeting.

Objective: To recognize individuals, teams, or organizations making outstanding contributions to the Boler Mountain community, in one or more of the following areas:

  • Creating an inclusive environment for underrepresented groups in snow sports (such as BIPOC, women, LGBTQ2S+)
  • Mentoring colleagues
  • Promoting youth engagement (with staff, volunteers*, or Boler Mountain guests)
  • Championing Boler Mountain’s sustainability initiatives

Eligibility: Boler Mountain staff (full-time and seasonal/part-time), volunteers*, and voting members.

Type of Award: Recipients will receive a distinctive customized award statuette.

Objective: To recognize a business, sponsor, or community partner whose support has significantly advanced Boler Mountain’s mission or programs.

Eligibility: External businesses, sponsors, or community partners.

Type of Award: Recipients will receive a distinctive customized award statuette.

Volunteer Definition: A Boler Mountain volunteer is anyone who provides unpaid time supporting Boler Mountain activities throughout the year. These individuals may include:

  • Evening and weekend ski patrollers
  • Board directors and board committee members
  • Snow school assistants
  • Camp counsellor assistants
  • Voting members supporting initiatives not otherwise listed

Nomination Process: Anyone can nominate a person or company they feel aligns with the categories outlined above (including self-nominations).

Please complete our award nomination form, for each award you would like us to review. Nominations should not be combined in one form, for multiple award categories.

Nomination Deadline: Boler Mountain accepts award nominations year-round. The annual nomination deadline is June 30; submissions received after this date will be considered in the following year’s award cycle.

Award winners will be announced at the fall annual general meeting.
