Boler Mountain kicks off 75th anniversary with new logo designed by Fanshawe College student

London, Ontario – It all started back in 1946 when a group of outdoor enthusiasts gathered at the top of Reservoir Hill, west of London, near Byron. They were set to enjoy a new sport they had
learned while serving overseas during the Second World War. Strapping on some wooden boards to their boots they took the first tracks of what is now Southwestern Ontario’s most dynamic destination for outdoor adventure – Boler Mountain!

Now 75 years later, Boler continues to operate as a non-profit organization, providing year-round outdoor activities to more than 170,000 visitors a year! From skiing and snowboarding to beach
volleyball, mountain biking and treetop adventure, Boler Mountain has a lot to celebrate as it turns 75.

To kick off the yearlong anniversary celebration, Boler reached out to Fanshawe College third year graphic design students to help us design a commemorative logo. Xiaoxuan Zhu, a third year graphic design and advanced illustration student, designed the winning logo. She studied under Professor Walter Sayers and impressed both her professor and the panel of judges at Boler Mountain with her winning design.

Students were asked to incorporate the current Boler Mountain logo into a special design celebrating the 75th anniversary. Work began on the entries in the fall 2020 term and the winner was chosen early in 2021. Since then, Boler has been busy adapting the new logo to everything from signage to swag, gifts and more. It will be all be revealed at the anniversary kick-off event!
