RFID Lift Tickets
For the 2025-2026 winter season, Boler Mountain will now be using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) for all lift access. The chip contains information pertaining to the lift product you have purchased and tells our scanning system that your lift ticket or season pass is valid. When you approach the access gate, your RFID card will register and open the gate automatically. It’s that easy! All other activities like tubing and mountain biking are not using the RFID access.
This system is touch-free. You will have one lift ticket card, that is kept in your pocket when out on the hill. Once a guest has a card in their possession, they can reload this card with tickets and passes for future visits, never needing to stop at the main office or ticket window to pick up their lift ticket. If you have your own equipment, you can go straight to the slopes!
STEP 1: Purchase Your First Ticket
- Visit our online store to choose your date and product(s). There will be an initial $5 fee for a reloadable RFID Card.
- After you check out, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a barcode. Do not lose this email.
STEP 2: Pick Up Your Card*
- When you arrive, go to the ticket window or customer service to get your Card. Using your phone or printed email, scan the barcode from your confirmation email with the staff person.
- The staff member will print all tickets in your order in the form of RFID Cards. You may head straight to the lift with your Card.
- If you purchased rentals, next stop is the Rental Shop to get your rentals.
*If you reloaded an existing Boler RFID Card online you can head straight to the lift (or Rental Shop for rentals) with that Card.

STEP 3: Using Your Card
- Place your Card in your LEFT jacket pocket, by itself, away from credit cards, cell phones, or other RFID-enabled tickets. Chest or sleeve pockets are perfect. If you have a small child, you might need to give them a little boost to get their card scanned at the lift. We suggest that kids put their Card in a goggle/helmet pass holder on the left side of their helmet to ensure the RFID Card is scanned properly.
- Never carry more than one RFID Card (including Cards from other resorts or other people) at one time.
- The Mountain Card, and any associated/loaded products, are not transferable and only valid for the original recipient of the Card and associated products. Each individual will need their own card (including children), even if purchased by the same person.
- Once you arrive at the chairlifts, go to the gates. Wait a few seconds for the reader to detect the Card and the gates will open automatically. If the gate does not open, step back slightly and try again by positioning your Card closer to the reader. Otherwise, step away from the line and a member of our team will be available to help you.
The card should be the only item in your pocket, isolated from your cell phone, other RFID card and electronic device. Avoid contact with metal objects and above all, do not make a hole in your card.
STEP 4: Reload Your Card
- Once you have your Card, you can use it all season by adding tickets through your online account.
- To reload your Card go to our Online Store page to choose your date and product(s).
- Log in to your account to complete your purchase.
- The front of your Card reads your WTP Number that you will use to reload your Card. Following your transaction, the product will be automatically added to your Card. You are now ready to go directly to the gate.
Dos & Don’ts with RFID Gateway Cards
- DO place your pass/ticket on your LEFT hand side in an empty jacket pocket.
- DO take a photo of your pass for proof of purchase if lost.
- DO NOT place cell phones, credit cards, foil, or other RFID cards in the same pocket as your pass.
- DO NOT bend or hole-punch your ticket or pass. This will damage the RFID antenna and not allow you access to the lifts.

Why are you implementing this. Won’t this slow down the lift lines?
The RFID eliminates the need for ticket checkers in line. In addition to reducing lift ticket fraud it allows us to monitor the number of people on the hill and provides data to us to enhance the guest experience.
